Tree Awards 2024

Everyone is invited to celebrate Arbor Day with us, and honour people who have gone out of their way to protect and promote Namibia's valuable woody plants, at the annual Tree Awards ceremony. 

Where: National Botanical Research Institute, 8 Orban Street (up the hill from Windhoek High School)

When: Friday 11 October 2024

Programme: 17h30 – Introduction of award recipients plus Tree of the Year 2024, followed by "Celebrating Trees", an illustrated talk by Barb Curtis on Namibia’s “Big Five” trees and the importance of indigenous trees.  In the lecture room. 

18h30 – Hand out of certificates & planting of a tree in the Botanic Garden

19h30 – Sundowners and refreshments in the garden
