When and where?

Usually, every second Saturday of the month, from 08:00 (summer) 08:30 (winter) to 11:00 at the National Botanical Research Institute (NBR), 8 Orban street, opposite WHS sports fields.

What can I expect?

A leisurely walk in the Botanic Garden; a "natural" garden. There are many benches to rest and enjoy the peace in the centre of Windhoek. Experienced guides inform about the indigenous flora of Namibia; their use, distribution, conservation status, value.

What should bring?

Entry fee is N$20 for non-members; members of the Society and children have free entry. Wear walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat, bring water. Optional: binoculars to watch wildlife.

Other information

Refreshments (coffee, tea, muffins) are available after the walk. Donations are requested for refreshments. Relevant books (botanical) are offered for sale. T-shirts, bags, cards, notepads are also on sale. Visit our Botshop pages to see the range of books and other items that we sell.
