Guided walk in the Botanic Garden

When and where?
Due to upcoming holidays, this December walk is on the first Saturday of the month.
Usually, every second Saturday of the month, from 08:00 (summer) 08:30 (winter) to 11:00 at the National Botanical Research Institute (NBR), 8 Orban street, opposite WHS sports fields.
What can I expect?
A leisurely walk in the Botanic Garden; a “natural” garden. There are many benches to rest and enjoy the peace in the centre of Windhoek. Experienced guides inform about the indigenous flora of Namibia; their use, distribution, conservation status, value.
What should bring?
Entry fee is N$20 for non-members; members of the Society and children have free entry. Wear walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat, bring water. Optional: binoculars to watch wildlife.
Other information
Refreshments (coffee, tea, muffins) are available after the walk. Donations are requested for refreshments. Relevant books (botanical) are offered for sale. T-shirts, bags, cards, notepads are also on sale. Visit our Botshop pages to see the range of books and other items that we sell.
