BotSoc hosts a range of interesting events throughout the year. These are open to members and non-members.

Types of events
Illustrated talks
Talks and presentations are generally scheduled for the third Thursday of the month and are held at the National Botanical Research Institute at 8 Orban Street, Windhoek.
Guided walks
Usually every second Saturday of the month, from 08:00-10:45 (summer) or 08:30-11:00 (winter) at the National Botanical Gardens, 8 Orban Street, Windhoek.
Excursions
Usually long weekends or one-day excursions led by a knowledgable guide. They are planned and advertised in our newsletter, social media and website.
Tree Awards
Held on the third Thursday in October, in conjunction with Arbor Day celebrations, the Annual Tree Awards acknowledge people who protect or promote indigenous trees.
Plant Sales
Usually held in conjunction with Namib Trees, a nursery in Windhoek selling indigenous plants. Refreshments are on sale as well as books and other BotSoc items.
Designated Days
BotSoc recognises and often celebrates designated days such as Arbor Day, World Environment Day, International Day for Biological Diversity and others.
