In South Africa, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is the custodian of the Champion Trees of South Africa project, an initiative dedicated to identifying the largest specimens of various tree species, as well as those with notable historical or cultural significance. Namibia prides itself with several such trees.
Carol is keen to initiate a Champion Trees of Namibia project, bringing us in line with these international efforts in dendrology.
